A Word about the Word 'God'
In my writings, I often use the word God. When using the word God, I do not mean the God of any particular religious book or system of belief.
We, as religious groups and as individuals, each see God uniquely...
How did God create the Earth and the heavens?
Is God a He or a She?
Does God take human form(s)?
If so, how does God appear?
Does God have any definable shape at all?
Is God a unity or plurality?
Through what book(s) and human messengers does God communicate?
What language does God prefer that we read and speak?
What time of day, and in what manner, does God say to pray, eat, and gather?
What does God think of nature's role in spiritual devotion?
Are there certain animals considered so sacred that it is a violation of God's law that they be harmed?
Which animals aren't so sacred and are deemed acceptable for humans to eat?
Does God allow some of us into heaven and cast others to hell?
Does God tell us we reincarnate or that we have just one chance at life on Earth?
Does God communicate more directly with certain people than with others?
What does God say about those who believe in other Gods?
What does God say about those who do not believe in God at all?
To me, God created and sustains everything (and everywhere) in the known/unknown, seen/unseen universe(s). Therefore, God is not Earth-centric. God’s gifts shower upon all that exists.
Infinite Presence is a term that I use alongside (or instead of) the word God.
Infinite = omniscient, immense, timeless, boundless, everywhere, endless, and always
Presence = being, alive, spirit, here and now
Here is a poem that further expresses these sentiments.
God is truly infinite. Life is infinite. Life’s an infinite presence that keeps giving presents.
